Now this one convinced me
I loved the awkward beginning. I think this video did a much better job at adverticing for their relationship. And as it shows from D'Artagnan's POV, we get to see more of his more appealing sides and see his feelings for her. This one defeinitely convinced me and makes me wonder if maybe I should add this show to my list of shows to watch. Just maybe. We'll see ;)

Thanks misskitten. I'm glad I won you over with D'Artagnan. lol It would be a shame if I didn't, seeing as he's my favourite character and I wouldn't be able to present him in a favourable light!

*standing ovation* Bravo! Bravo! Daring, you did a wonderful job with this Young Blades video. The song is perfect for them too. They're to hard heads that collide all right.
One thing I particularly enjoyed were the several scenes you slipped in that would immediately bring a smile to the fan's faces: those onions, the horses' rump scene, d'Artagnan's cottage dream, brothers but not arms scene, etc.
And you dedicated it to us! Aw, you brought a tear to my eye. *still clapping wildly*

I've read some Young Blades fanfic…
I've read some Young Blades fanfic courtesy of jeantre16, so I had the barest glimmer of what the show was about, but this video really clarifies things. I do wonder how anyone bought that she's a man, though. lol. Nice job with the video, I enjoyed it.

Like I mentioned to Karracaz, it's a matter of perspective. In the 17th Century, if you said you were a man, and you dressed like a man, you were a man. No questions asked. The idea of cross-dressing was just that unfathomable. In fact, there's a huuuge list of women in history that got away with this. :)
And yes, Jeantre16's fics are a great place to start if you want to get an idea of what the show is about...Especially "Woke Up Dreaming"

I Always Wonder...
How women dressed up as men ever get away with it, especially when as beautiful as this! I've never seen Young Blades but your video certainly made this look interesting. Does she have to stick on that beard every day?

That's because we're looking at it from a modern perspective. Back in the day (or in this case, the 17th century France) if you said you dressed like a man, you were a man. If you dressed like a woman, you were a woman. Crossdressing was unheard of, with little exceptions. Mind you, it's not like her 'squeaky' voice and awkward masculine gait *don't* invite suspicion, but for the most part, everyone seems blissfully unaware of Jacqueline's disguise.
As for the goatee, she didn't have it when the series began..it just sort of appeared in the last few episodes. And yes, she does have to stick it on everyday; she's living in a garrison full of musketeers and leading a day-to-day life as a male soldier. It's rare to see her in her 'feminine' ensemble (much to D'Artagnan's disappointment, of course! :P )
