Winds of Change
Miracules do Happen
She was given a chance to change the past, and make the future right. Now all she had to do was deal with a pissed off ex, serial killer and an overprotective father and twin brother. Crossover with the movie 'Empire records', and just so u all know i've tweaked it a bit and its AU.
The rain had been pouring for hours, the funeral long over, but to her it would never end. She'd move on, but she'd never marry or love again. A bit of her died on the floor of the jewlry store where he'd died.
She knelt down and ran hand over the polished stone. Still so smooth and brand new.
"I'm sorry, Tim, I should have told you that I knew. Hell, I should've told you to leave when you got that call. I could'va and still would if I could change it, covered for you with H when got that damn case. Why didn't I go with my gut instincts and make you take your secondary side arm? Damn it! you clean your damn gun and it misfires!"
She sat on the wet grass and cried even more.
"I will move on, but don't exspect me to love again. I'm just ready.....I may never be ready. Speed, just so you know, if I could I would have done this so differently. I would have made sure we had forever."
She pressed her lips to the stone and then left the gravesite.
The thunder clouds rolled in as the winds changed, it would be said long after that those winds were different and were winds of change.
~September 19~
She woke up and wondered why in the hell she smelled coffee, and why Speed's clothing was all over the floor. She'd packed everything up the night of the accident. She had to do something.
She crawled out of bed and pulled her Glock from her pillow and then walked out of her bedroom. If it was Delko trying to be there for her again, so help her, she'd lock him in the storage closet at work.
She looked around the corner and her jaw dropped.
There in all his glory, wearing her favorite shirt and boxers and socks, was her husband, CSI Level 3, rank of Decetive, Timothy 'Speed' Speedle.
But he was dead!
She looked at the calendar on the wall, and to her surprise it wasn't in pieces. She went crazy when she got home and tore everything up. Including the calendar.
For it still to be up.....
No way. She was dreaming.
No better yet someone was playing a cruel joke. That was it. Because she wouldn't entertain the thought of the other far fetched idea to be real.
The wind came fluttering in through the opened window and she felt compelled to think through what she was about to do.
She eased back and leaned against the wall and thought. If this was a second chance, then she could tell him and go with her instincts.
Looking at her Glock she thought, and then she ran back to the bedroom, put the gun under the pillow and got back in.
If God or whatever mysterious being was in control of the universe, seen fit to give her and Speed a second a chance she'd take it.
She closed her eyes and turned onto her side.
Speed did have good ways of waking her up.
Speak of the devil....
She heard the tray being set down on the table and then he crawled onto the bed and spooned up beside her.
"Breakfeast is served, Vee."
Oh God, his voice.....she'd never take anything for granted again.
"And it smells great." Virginia Speedle said as she looked over at him.
"Of course it is. I made it."
"A bit aragoant aren't you?"
"You love it."
"I do."
They ate in silence and then Virginia said, "We need to talk Speed."
"About?" He asked as he looked at her.
Worry and fear in his eyes.
"I know about Lucas."
hehe good keep going
