Whisper of the Sea

Bubbly foam swept across the pebbly sand, foregoing a wave of burgundy glass that raced over my feet and lapped hungrily at my ankles. A fiery ginger orb hovered over the water, like a fishing bobber suspended between air and sea. Crimson fingers touched the corners of the world, dipping slender tendrils of sunlight into the ocean and turning all the surrounding water into liquid gold. Salt and spray spewed onto the shore as ravenous waves lapped the cliffs, starving for deposits of minerals to sweep into its inky black belly, and with each swipe of its golden fangs, it sapped at the cliffs, changing them every moment, altering them until moist, dark caves sparkling with water that danced in the sun's last rays were carved as if by a skilled blacksmith. Here where sand, sky, and sea drowned together in one lively mass that throbbed with life and soul like a tiny child, it was impossible to discern one from the other without inviting yourself to cherish a malicious, splitting headache.
