What if Zane didn't die? What if Tally chose Zane? Leaving David? When Ellie Brookes, during the Rusty Panic, runs to her foster parents laboratory, she finds a strange vessel, which freezes her, until the year 2345. What adventures will this 2008 girl have?
A shake.
Then a rumble came deep from the Earth. "Brenda?" I called for my foster mom in one shaky breath.
I ducked under the table as the entire house shook.
Earthquakes rarely happened in Ohio.
"Ellie! Get down into the lab! Now!" Jack, my foster dad, yelled. He threw my old backpack at me, catching me off guard. I quickly stumbled, but caught my balance.
"W-what's happening? Wha-"
"Ellie, go. NOW!" Another shake of the house, but it was more violent. I could even here sirens going off in a distance. I ran for it, to their lab.
They were scientists, and were busy most of the time. But, whenever they could, they would let me go down there and
Jack and Brenda would show me the experiments they were doing and such. It amazed me how they even got half of their stuff to work.
The gray tiled wall was familar to me, and I ran down more steps. I could here yelling coming up from the main room, then a scream.
'Brenda!' But I didn't stop. I passed all the surgeon tools they had, for disecting stuff, and the microscopes and teloscopes. Another shake, even more violent, making more things crash to the floor. The roof was starting to collapse.
I looked. I looked for something to hide in, at least. Surival was the only thing I was aiming for to begin with. Then I saw it. It stood about 6 or 7 feet tall. It had a small glass window, only to look in, with some type of dial on the side. Small and huge tubes entered the vessel.
The roof collapse, making me yelp in suprise. I opened the vessels door, with difficulty, and shut myself inside.
"Dang. Should have brought a coat." It was FREEZING. I saw rubble out of the window. The roof collapsed again, but this time, ABOVE the vessel. I screamed, covering my head out of instinct. A flash.
Then darkness surrounded me.
I woke up, soaking wet, on the ground. My bookbag laid on my back.
"Agh. What a headache." I stood up, shakily, grabbing my head. "Holy Mother!" I looked at my surroundings. Everything was in ruins, like those old villages found in Egypt or something.
I started breathing rapidly. I was started to have trouble breathing. 'Darn you, asthma.'
I looked around, grasping my neck. I grabbed the backpack off of me, and shuffled through it.
"I FOUND IT!" I shrieked, but ended up coughing. I put the inhaler between my lips, pushed, and breathed in sweet relief.
I put the purple inhaler back into it's pouch, then looked around stupidly. "Eh, I guess it won't hurt to look around. For all I know, this could be a dream. Yea, just a screwed up dreaaaaaaaam." I dragged out. I shifted the bag onto a more comfortable spot, and headed off to whatever doom was in stored for me.
