Lucca sat on the window sill of the hotel room that he had gotten a month ago, “I’ve only been with him for six months, and so far its been a little much to handle. The first week I was with him I got lost on some alien planet and I couldn’t find him. And just last month I was jumped on another planet that I wasn’t familiar with. I ended up with a broken arm and a few bruised ribs but I love being out here. All of the new places to see and the new people to meet. Its great, but I can’t figure out why he left me here in a city, on earth, that I have never even been to before.” he thought.

“Where is he?” he screamed throwing the pillow he was holding. “Why did he leave me here?”

Lucca couldn’t figure out what went wrong that made the Doctor leave him in the city of Cardiff. There was no reason for it, he didn’t live any where near here. He didn’t even live on this content. The American stood from his seat and decided that he should shower and go get something to eat.

“Where should I go?” He said to himself as he flipped through the guide he had gotten on one of the tours around the city. “This place looks good.”

He left the hotel room and down the stairs. There was a restaurant that he had wanted to try that for some reason he never did in the month that he had been there. He walked the few blocks down the street and stopped in front of the door. He looked inside and smiled, there was a family sitting in the corner, a mother, a father, two sons, and a daughter. He thought about his family and what it would be like if they were still alive. He shook that thought away and stepped into the restaurant.

“What can I get for you?” the waitress asked as she set a glass of water in front of him.

“Hmm, lets see,” he smiled, “I think that I’ll have just a burger and fries with a coke.”

“Alright doll,” the waitress smiled, “I’ll be right back.”

Lucca sat back and sipped his water, he looked around. ‘this must be a family place.’ he thought noting all of the families sitting around him.

“Here you go,” a large glass of coke was set in front of him, “Anything else?” the waitress asked.

“No, just this and the burger. Thanks”

He waited patiently for his food and ate slowly, he liked the atmosphere. It was quaint, very relaxing. He finished and stood, walked over to the counter and paid. The waitress walked over to him and slipped him something with a wink, he waited until he was out side to open it and found that it was a number, her number. He laughed and turned around and waved at the blushing waitress. It was getting dark, but Lucca wasn’t ready to go back the hotel, so he thought that he should just walk around for a while. He decided to walk in the opposite direction of the hotel and head toward uptown. He hadn’t been there in a while and he thought that it would be a great place to hang.

The street lights turned on and he thought that it was pretty quite for this time of night. But he kept walking and didn’t pay any attention to the shadows creeping up on him. He stopped noticing that something was coming up on him and it didn’t look human. He started to get nervous, but stood his ground. Whatever it was there was no way he was going to turn his back to it.

It started to run at him and he took a step backwards and ran into a man. He turned around and saw that he wasn’t the only one behind him, there was a woman, and they both seemed to know what was going on.

“Hi there,” Jack said putting a hand out, “I’m Captain Jack Harkness, and you might be?”

“I-I’m Lucca,” he said hesitantly, “Lucca Martins.”

“Well Lucca Martins, I suggest that you stand back there.” Jack said pointing to the SUV.

Lucca nodded and walked past the captain and the woman, he stopped right by the SUV and that’s where he stood. He watched as the two stranger fought this ugly looking thing that Lucca could only figure to be an alien. They sprayed it with something that seemed to stun it and Lucca stepped forward. He didn’t notice the other weible standing off to the side eyeing him. The instant he stepped foot away from the SUV it was on the move.

It took Jack only a second to realize that there was a second weevle, he was running toward Lucca a full speed and knew that he wasn’t going to get there before that weible was on him. But just before Lucca was attacked he was pushed out of the way and he landed on the ground with a thud on top of the one who had just saved his life. He laid there stunned for only a second before he looked up at the one that had pushed him.
