Troubles
Inuyasha has feelings for Kagome. Kagome has feelings for Inuyasha. Will they ever get it right?
The feelings run hot, but so their tempers. Kagome and Inuyasha must figure out for themselves just what their feelings really are, and just how intense too.
Inuyasha had had a fight with Kagome. Another one. And Miroku suggested he should apologize.
"There's no damn way I'm going to apologize. I didn't do anything wrong!"
Miroku simply shook his head, then spoke up. "How do you feel about her?"
Inuyasha thought for a while, then answered. "Well, I kind of like her, but she's always getting in the way. After all she was the one who broke the sacred crystal, and she was the reason we had to look for the shards for so long".
Miroku picked up where Inuyasha left off. "And she was the one who cared for you when you were ill, cleaned all your wounds, and put bandages on to save your life when you were almost dead. Can't you see Inuyasha, that she loves you. But you refuse to return that affection. She's only mortal and can only take so much. It's no wonder she returned to her time. She'd have more luck getting affection out of a tree stump than a half demon who can only think of himself".
Astounded at what he'd heard Inuyasha stood up on the grass where he and Miroku had been sitting.
"Are you calling me a coward Miroku?" bellowed Inuyasha.
"Yes, I believe I am, Inuyasha".
Surprised that any mortal would have the courage to say that to a half demon Inuyasha was taken aback. So much so he stumbled against the well that Kagome used to return to her time. And fell in.
As he was falling, he felt a mighty wind pulling him towards the other side and the present day. He didn't land at the bottom of the well, as he usually did, and he didn't even climb out. He was blown out of the well and landed on his behind.
"Oh brother, do I feel rotten."
Kagome's little brother, Sota, was near the well when Inuyasha crashed onto the ground, and he immediately started to verbally defend his sister. "I hope you feel really rotten. My sister came home in tears because of you". The little guy started swatting Inuyasha with his baseball cap.
Inuyasha held him at arms length till the boy stopped swinging his arms, then he grabbed the cap and put it on to hide his ears.
"Where's that sister of yours? I've got something to say to her."
"She's in the back yard near the apple tree, but she doesn't want to see you."
Inuyasha went off of the direction of the backyard, hollering for Kagome. Sota quietly said to himself, "Boy, is he gonna get it".
As Inuyasha entered the back yard he heard two words."Sit boy!" Kagome yelled.
Inuyasha crumpled to the ground like somebody had just hit him with a baseball bat. When he stood up and dusted himself off he said "I really wish you'd stop saying that." He said the words, but his speech sounded like he had too much sake to drink.
"I wouldn't have to say them at all if you'd listen to me half the time" she yelled.
"Hey, quit the yelling! I have enough of a headache thanks to you." Inuyasha still felt a bit dizzy from his sudden encounter with the ground.
"Sit boy!" Kagome yelled again.
And again Inuyasha crumpled to the ground.
When Inuyasha rose again from the ground, he was covered in dirt, He glanced up and saw the tears in Kagome's eyes and could see her tremble when she spoke. "I can feel everything you do, do things you do," she told him, "but I can't understand why you pine after somebody who's dead! Kikyo is dead and will never, ever feel anything ever again. I'm a living breathing woman with needs, wants, and desires. Somebody who cares for you a great deal. But I need someone who will have the same feelings for me. I can't wait around for a guy whose more interested in becoming a full fledged demon. I foolishly fell in love with you as you are right now. And if you can't see that, you're just as dead as Kikyo!.
Inuyasha was surprised at her candor. He had never heard her speak like that before. He shuffled his feet, unsure on how to respond. "Look Kagome, you've known me long enough to know I'm not great with flowery speeches like you are."
Kagome muttered, "That's an understatement if I ever heard one"
"I can only show you how I feel about you," Inuyasha continued.
He cupped her face in his hands. Inuyasha moved his face close to hers. So close he could feel the moistness of her cheeks and the warmth of her breath. As he moved just a little bit closer, he could see her lips part. His mouth was a mere centimeters away from hers, and slowly they touched.
Sota was leaning against the fence in the backyard. "Aw, c'mon get a room, will ya?".
Kagome suddenly backed away, surprised and infuriated at the intrusion. Hands on her hips her anger was now directed at Sota. "Where in the world did you hear such an expression" she demanded.
