The Kira of Hearts
First time
My very first Death note fanfic!!! Oh my god, i can't believe I just posted these first two chapters...... There will be more of course
Light's first meeting with the girl known as Sabrina
The night air was crisp and forbidding, the scent of blood and death fresh in the air. Standing in the middle of a park that lay in the cities center was agirl, her long jet black hair flowing in the wind, her bloodred eyes set upon the countless bodies around her but an emotionless stare came from her. She held something loosely in one hand: a strange black notebook with the words "Death Note" written on it's cover.
The girl sighed, closing her eyes momentarily before looking up at the full moon above her, whispering only two words, as if speaking to the moon itself, "How sad......"
Light had noticed her before many times, sitting by herself in the park on one of the benches, her hand always down as she seemed to be writting intently into a notebook, something anyone else would have as normal if he hadn't noticed that the notebook was black and the words on it's cover.
"She seems very confident to be writting names in her Death Note out where others can see her," said Ryuk from behind Light.
Light turned to look at the shingami. Ryuk ate another bite of his apple and Light sighed, turning back to look at the girl, "Or very stupid."
A sudden and violent gust of wind came at Light and he winced for a moment before pulling his coat closer around him. How strange, it wasn't even slightly windy before, he thought to himself before walking over to the girl. He stood before you, blocking out the sun from her notebook and said very calmly, "Might you be Kira?"
The girl smiled but didn't look up, "How interesting. Tell me, Light Yagami, why would you as such a thing of a girl you don't even know?"
"Ignoring the fact that you seem to know my name, I ask because you have a Death Note."
"How do you know it isn't a fake or just a diary that I made to look like a Death Note?"
"Because it looks too much like one to be a fake."
The girl laughed and glanced up at him from writting, her bloodred eyes burrowing into him like claws, "Very perceptive of you. My name is Sabrina, Sabrina Nightshade, and yes, I happen to be a Kira, Light."
He nodded and Ryuk tapped him on the shoulder, 'Uh, Light?"
"Yes?" he said without turning.
"Her shinigmai is glaring at me."
Sabrina turned to look at the empty space behind her, "Kurundi, now behave, you're scaring Ryuk."
Light was taken aback but regained composture quickly, "You can hear my shinigami?"
"I can also see him," she said with a smile, "Cool Note holder, Ryuk."
Ryuk smiled, 'Thanks....I think."
"How? You've never touched my Death Note have you?"
Sabrina shook her head, "Nope, but for some reason Kurundi's Note is VERY special."
Suddenly Light's cell phone rang and he reached into his pocket, looking away only to answer, "hello?"
"Hi Light!" It was Misa of course.
He sighed, "Hi Misa."
He turned back around to find Sabrina gone. He looked around, not hearing or caring about whatever Misa had said, more worried about where the girl had gone.
"Sabrina......" She was walking back to the house she was required to call home, which wasn't home to her. Home was Azumano, IS Azumano, she reminded herself, before lookign to her side as the strange black haired boy walkign with her. He looked normal, with longish messy black hair and wearing what looked like a school uniform, but the problem was that he had two horns stickign out of his head, had silver cat-like eyes, claws, one of his fangs stuck out of his mouth and had a tail. His wings were folded on his back.
"Yes Kurundi?" she said smiling softly at her shinigami.
"I don't think you should have told Light about me or the Death note," kurundi said, a slight growl to his words and a lot of cynicism.
"now why would that be?"
"You know why. Our Death Note is different then the others; other Notes kill with sight and name, yours allows you to not only see other shinigami, but kill with a name and face OR just a face--"
"--As long as I hold my Death Note, yes, yes, I know that already. So?"
"So?!?!" Kurundi sounded angry and she didn't blame him, but she had no time for that. She turned the street corner and walked up the driveway of a rather normal looking house, although there was a boy sitting in a tree staring at her. She smiled, "Hi Yunia."
Yunia smiled back at her, "Hi Lady Sabrina, welcome back to the house."
