When he first noticed her she wore red, and yellow, Gryffindor colors, even though she was in Ravenclaw. He thought she was quite batty, but found her hat to be rather clever. She was in Ravenclaw, after all. He thought of her not at all afterwards.

When he first saw her at the DA meetings, she wore orange, an orange Butterbeer cork necklace. He thought it was the strangest jewelry he had ever seen, but he had not yet seen her earrings. She was quite mad, after all. However, she did attend the meetings, and for that he was grateful. He thought of her occasionally afterwards.

When they went to save Sirius, she wore yellow, bright yellow socks that he wouldn't have been surprised if they glowed. He thought they were almost blinding, but they did come in handy when he could only see her feet. She turned out to be quite brave, after all. It was her who helped him when he went loonier than she was, and for that he was grateful. He thought of her more often afterwards.

When she commented on the Quidditch match she wore green, or at least that's what she said, her lucky green glove that also protected her from nargles, dragons, and ill-tempered bumblebees. He thought that the only thing that could make him happier would be to see the game and her glove from the hospital wing. She turned out to be bloody genius, after all. It was she who saved him from feeling bad about missing the game, and for that, he was grateful. He thought of her a good deal afterward.

When the Death Eaters attacked Hogwarts, she wore blue, the blue of her Ravenclaw colors. He thought she looked almost scary in her solemness, which he was not accustomed to. She turned out to be very useful, after all. It was she who helped calm Hermione and the professor, and for that, he was grateful. He thought of her lots afterward.

When Bill and Fleur were married, she wore indigo, a vivid hue that made her gown stand out from the crowd. He thought she looked wonderful in it, and made sure to complement her between dances. She turned out to be a great dancer, after all. It was she who made sure that he was never without a dance partner, and for that, he was grateful. He thought of her constantly afterwards.

When the Final Battle raged, she wore violet, swirling violet robes that made her both a sitting duck and impossible to hit. He thought she was drawing too much attention to herself, and tried to talk her out of it, but she refused. She turned out to be a great hero, after all. It was she who defeated Lucius Malfoy, the Death Eater who was felling wizards left and right, and it was she who saved Ron and Harry's lives, and for that, he was grateful. He thought of her incessantly afterwards.

When the memorial service was held for the fallen, she wore black, gauzy black that floated whichever way the wind blew. He thought she was elegant and told her so. She turned out to be an eloquent speaker, after all. It was she who soothed him over the death of his sister, and it was she who helped him through his darkest days, and for that, he was grateful. He thought of her exclusively afterwards.

When their wedding day came, she wore white, pure beautiful innocent white, the kind of white she deserved to wear. He thought she was perfect and told her so. She turned out to be his soul mate, after all. It was she who accepted his proposal, she who gave him a whole new perspective on life, and she who made life worth living, and for that, he was grateful. He thought of her only forevermore.
