While investigating a series of temporal disturbances emanating from The Guardian of Forever, The Enterprise, captained by James Kirk, is drained of power and sent nearly 80 years into the future, where another ship called Enterprise captained by Jean-Luc Picard saves Kirk's ship from certain destruction. I apologize for the formatting. I gave up trying to get it to submit right after 5 hours.

The crews of both Enterprises come together to solve the mystery of the Guardian of Forever. However, Picard is keeping a secret from Kirk, one that might seal the fate of the legendary captain's crew. Meanwhile, Spock and Data venture to the planet's surface. They discover that they are not alone. (While it starts similarly to "When the Bough Breaks," this story cannot be more different).

Finally some answers...While Kirk tries to cheat history, Picard attempts to discover what happened to the away team. Meanwhile, Spock and Data get some answers from an unexpected source...

My first take (of two) on this scene sticks rather close to Mr. Bormanis's outline, taking only moderate liberties. As with everyone else's entries, please forgive any formatting errors, whether mine or the KvP file uploader's fault (it killed my indentations! Waaaaa!).

Kirk and Picard's conflict over the fate of the timeline is interrupted by tragedy. Spock and Data have a chance to learn the truth, but even their intellectual prowess may not be enough to save two Starships from a fatal engagement!
