Another day of being normal, wearing the mask. It's funny how people see only what they want to see.

Like how some people can get away with killing without being called a murderer.

Doakes got away with it. Gunned a man down. Even Internal Affairs was told to back off by Doakes' government contacts from his special ops days. Didn't even get his hand slapped.

The guy Doakes killed was a monster. He deserved it. But somehow that was okay, because he played by their rules.

But when I kill, even though they all deserved it, I'm labeled a "butcher" ...

Maybe I should have gone into the military. Come to think of it, they actually train people to kill. I bet they would have put my "special talents" to good use.

They even encourage it, especially when it suits their purposes. Just look at Doakes - he kills a monster and he's a hero. I kill monsters and I'm called a butcher.

... go figure.

And with this investigation going on, will I be able to control myself? My urges? Harry would insist on it.

But is it really better to wait? With my new dumping grounds, there'll be no evidence to connect me. And people go missing all the time.

How long will it be before I can kill again? Before it's safe?

But was I ever safe? I mean, really? I know Harry tried, he taught me all he could. But now it's up to me.
