Another submission for CSIBeauty's photography contest. This picture was taken in 2006 in Brownfield, Texas. It was a super cell tornado that produced some rotation and minor funnels, but nothing touched the ground.

Cool
That is cool, but scary, very scary. Whats the worst damage level?
Scary
And it's right over those houses, too. Great shot. You must have been kinda relieved that it didn't become very strong. :)
Re: Scary
Yeah, if it was in open fields I would have wanted it to get intense, but since it was in a residential area it was a relief! Thanks for reviewing!
Warning and Relief in One Shot
Wow, this picture turned out so clear. It has a foreboding look, hovering over those houses. I'm happy to hear it did no damage this time. I know those homeowners were happy about that.
Stay safe.
Re: Warning and Relief in One Shot
Yeah, I was kind of glad it never touched too. I wasn't exactly in a good position! :-) Thanks for commenting!
Dark
This is an almost troubling shot, as it stirs once anxiousness wondering what happened afterwards. Nice catch!
Re: Dark
Thank you! :-)
WOW!
That is amazing. A beautiful shot.
Re: WOW!
Thanks!
And your little dog, too!
Thanks. Now I have the Wicked Witch of the West's theme song stuck in my head.
*wink*
Great photo!
Re: And your little dog, too!
(Laughs) This one thankfully didn't carry any houses away! Hehe!
wow
Really cool picture. I'm glad it was just a small twister and didn't cause any damage. Great job, Modern! :D
Holy shmoly!
I have never seen a tornado other than on TV. Are you a storm chaser? I am about to move to Kansas, so I think I need to get used to seeing this. Great pic! How close were you?
Re: Holy shmoly!
I am an amateur storm chaser. I do volunteer work for the local news stations and send in my photos and videos for them to broadcast. I was probably about 400 yards from this one, it looks a little closer in the picture. It only touched the ground for about 10 seconds before it went back up into the cloud.
Good luck in Kansas, they see a lot of action too! It's amazing, you are going to see some wonderful cloud formations for sure. Thanks for your review! :-)
