We've all watched Harry Potter grow up and come to terms with his powers, but what about the adult characters? What were their childhoods like? Who was Minerva McGonagall as a girl? What was Lucius Malfoy's first day at Hogwarts like? Who was Filius Flitwick's first crush?

Write an original piece that tells the story of one or more of the adult characters from the Harry Potter books in their youth. You don't have to have finished, or even started, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to participate; all you need is a love of the Potter-world and an idea. Be as creative as you can, but please stay within the canon Harry Potter universe (no Harry Potter AU), and as you write, please keep in mind that submissions must be rated All Ages or 13+.

Check out a weekly trends column from a Caprican fashion magazine. A certain Cylon was clearly reading and heeding this advice when she was trying to catch Gaius’ eye!

This is the story of a girl who deserves a lot more respect than she gets. I was going for something really dreamlike in the writing itself -- no dialog, no setting, just one big long stream of monologue by one character.

Plagued by the number 7,500, especially after that last round? Then this is the story for you. A humor entry about, but not meant for, the Kirk vs. Picard competition. It contains 7500 characters, AND 7500 characters. Enjoy!

Gilderoy Lockhart wasn’t always the name-dropping dandy we saw in the Harry Potter books. Once upon a time, he was a nerdy new kid who could barely muster delusions of adequacy. This is the story of how his transformation came about...
