Hailing Our Service People

A poem for the men and women of the US military. God bless them always.

Guarding Freedom

They go to distant shores and over long waters.

Homes and families they leave to do their jobs.

Some to pay for school, others for travel.

In many branches and capacities they serve in.

At times they are hailed, others despised.

When hated, medals are trashed.

When loved, parades are given in their honor.

Some do the job, most never will.

They protect not a rag fluttering in the breeze,

But guard the way of life to be forever free.
