I pant hard and heavy, running faster and farther than I ever thought possible. I tremble in fear, tripping over my own feet. Falling over one last time, I turn onto my back and crawl backward frantically. I stare him in the eyes; his taunting eyes. An agonizing pain runs throughout my body, just the sheer fact of knowing. Knowing this...this...
psychopath. This person is my uncle, no more. This is no family member of mine. I do not know this man. My uncle is gone.
Uchiha Itachi......is gone.
All I can see now is darkness. I can remember everything, every last detail. To the last drop of blood. The way he slay the clan as if they were nothing more than animals. How he slaughtered my relatives, right down to my grandparents. His own mother and father.
I remember clearly; hiding in the dojo's coat closet in a corner, stuffing away my breath. I watched through the slightly ajar door as he slit through Grandmother's throat, and into Grandfather's. I heard the slithering sound of flesh being cut, the squirming sound of aterial spray that made it's way into my eye, blinding my sight from it.
I remember the deperate cries of my uncle Sasuke as he fell to the ground. I wanted to run to his side; he was like an older brother to me. But I knew I would be found. I carried my small body as far as I could into the forest off to the side of the Uchiha compund, long blonde hair trailing behind me, leaving my uncles behind. After
Lord knows how long of non-stop running, I could feel my elder uncle advance on me. That was when he used that Sharingan, that I have yet to achieve. I felt myself go numb, limp, and finally, there was nothing.
Now, I lie here in complete darkness. I am paralyzed, but all my senses are working at least partially. I'm being...carried. I can hear Itachi talking to someone. I refuse to call him my uncle any longer, after his betrayal. "Hai. This is him?"
"This is my neice, Kaori Uchiha."
I hear the voice laugh slightly. "Leader won't be so happy about this, un. She is supposed to be a he; your brother, un. Why?" The voice questioned. What did this man want with Uncle Sasuke? "Hai. I know that. But Sasuke...he's too weak. Kaori may not have yet achieved her kekkai genkai, but she has much more potential than my twit of a brother, Deidara." I heard Deidara laugh again.
"Well, when Leader yells at us for taking
her instead of the boy, we're setting the hot coals on
you, un. I'm not gonna take the heat; no way, un." I heard Itachi chuckle slightly. This sounds more like my kind, caring uncle that I used to have. "Hmm. Deidara is right; I'm not going to have Leader on my trail because of
your slip-ups, newbie." I hear a new voice speak. It's slightly deeper, a bit more mature than that of Deidara's and Itachi's. It's almost...comforting. Knowing there is a mature person here.
I am shifted around, and am now in someone else's hands. "Well, I'm off to clean up my mess. Make sure you're careful with her. She
is my beloved niece. Why do you think I value her above my foolish little brother, hm?" I hear Itachi say. I can hear the leaves crackle under his feet as he flies off, probably back to the Uchiha compound.
"Neh, Sasori-Danna. Are we gonna get it because of that stupid newbie, un?" I heard Deidara remark. The voice comes from a tad bit beside me and, of course, above. I can tell by that information I am in the arms of the man flagged 'Sasori'. Sasori spoke, "Hm. I should certainly hope not."
I hear Deidara groan childishly and he speeds off through the trees we're apparantly in. Sasori, however, stays still. I can feel his hand, that is placed on the underside of my thigh, shift. I realize his thumb is drifting up and down in it's place. I can sense his face drift closer to mine, as if he was examining me in the dark of the night. I want so badly to pull away, but I cannot. He suddenly lifts his head up again, and speeds off into the trees behind Deidara after the 10 second delay.
It seems to have been an eternity of speeding through the trees with Sasori and Deidara, when my vision goes from nothing to a small blur. My...my eyes! I can open them! I decide against it, though, for fear I may be knocked out again. I urge my finger to at least twitch, so very desperately. And so it did. In fact, it...it ran along Sasori's wrist. I don't know whether I should be rejoicing over the fact that my feeling has returned, or afraid of Sasori's unknown wrath.
"Deidara." Sasori spoke sternly as he stopped. I heard the crunching of the leaves cease. "Hm? What is it, Sasori, un?" Deidara asked. He seemed to be only a yard or two off. "She is no longer paralyzed." Oh dear. Oh....oh....oh dear.
xD Lol, my favorite part HAD to be…
