Ariana Dousou - a mere genin or something more

Chapter 1

I timidly walked into my first class at Konoha ninja academy. My heart was pounding and I had sweaty palms from trepidation. I was a naturally shy person and rarely came out of my shell. Not even at home. I was always self-conscious and apprehensive because people always gave me odd looks, evaded me in anyway possible and avoided making eye contact.

I am a 12 year old girl and in my parents eyes very beautiful. I have waist length, elegant fiery red hair that when swaying from side to side make my head look as if it were on fire. At my old school in the village hidden in the mist some people had actually poured a bottle of water over my head in an attempt to douse the 'flames' engulfing my head. I am rather short for my age and is constantly teased and mocked about it. The other vivid feature of my appearance people like to make fun of is my eyes. For you see I have a most unusual eye colour. Yellow. My eyes are that of a hot summer's sun and although I think my eyes to be beautiful, people constantly call me a freak because of them.

As I entered the classroom 25 pairs of eyes turned to look at me. The teacher for my first class, Hanni sensei, unhurriedly turned around from the black board and took in the appearance of his new student. "umm…is this the medical class?" I asked hesitantly.

"yes it is, and who might you be?" Hanni sensei asked in a bored voice all the while sucking the lollipop in his mouth.

"I am Ariana Dousou your new student" I replied in a quiet voice. Hanni sensei just took another suck on his lollipop. 

"now everybody already has partners, except for Jaibi so you'll partner up with him." "Hai" I answered then bowed to show my respect, I then quickly sat down next to the boy that Hanni sensei had pointed to. Jaibi gave me a big grin and extended his hand for me to shake. I shook his hand and returned my attention to Hanni sensei.

As soon as I had settled the lesson resumed once more. Today we were to be mixing chemical compounds to make antidote's to various poisons. As I was new Hanni sensei moved himself to the table in front of me so I could get a clear view of what I was suppose to be doing. However unbeknownst to everyone, including Hanni sensei, I happened to be a fully trained medical ninja. I had got my qualification when I was just 6 years old. I had also graduated from the ninja academy in the village hidden in the mist so fast that I was sent to Konoha, the village hidden in the leaves when i was 12, to get an education and perhaps hone my medical skills to perfection under the tutelage of the hokage herself, Tsunade. After i graduated from the academy I was to be put onto the ANBU squad for my prowess in taijutsu, ninjutsu, genjutsu and medical ninjutsu however because I was only 6 I was deemed too young. Although my coming to Konoha was more like a relief to my village to finally be rid of me.

As I looked down at the title of the antidote I was suppose to be making I smirked. It was a simple antidote to reverse the affects of consuming a deadly herb called Ghunton. My smirk became even wider as I looked around at the class struggling to follow and comprehend the method. I looked down at the ingredients before me and quickly started to work. Within 10 minutes I was done. Hanni sensei was rather surprised when I raised my hand to tell him I had completed making the draught. I looked around at the silent amazement etched into my classmates' faces. Hanni sensei having recovered from his initial shock then decided to test my abilities. He told the class to stop working and pay close attention to the various antidotes and poisons he was about to make me create. He set down fresh ingredients and told me to create a simple yet effective poison to immobilise the body. He set the method down in front of me, but having made this poison a thousand times I didn't even glance at it. Again Hanni sensei was amazed by my proficiency in the medical arts and when class was over he asked me to stay behind. I walked slowly over to Hanni sensei and asked "you wanted to see me."

"yes" replied Hanni. "Ariana after your lessons are finished I want you to meet me at the hokage's office. I wish to show Lady Tsunade your abilities."

"oh" I replied. "I'll be there" I say defiantly.

"good. You are dismissed." I gladly left the room and went on my way to my next class.

Throughout the entire day I was constantly surprising my sensei's and classmates with my skills. After the day was through practically every one of my sensei's wanted me to meet them at the hokage's office to show her my proficiency. At the hokage's office all of my sensei's sat waiting for me. Hanni knocked on the door and I heard the muffled sound of 'come in'. All of my sensei's filed in with me bringing up the rear. My shyness was getting the better of me and I started fidgeting with my thumbs and index fingers all the while staring at the floor."Lady Tsunade" one of my sensei's said, "we have come to present Miss Ariana Dousou. We wish for you to assess her to see if she is ready to become a genin of Konoha."it's her first day and you want me to assess her?!" Tsunade asked in disbelief. All around the room my sensei's were nodding their heads."well if you all say she's that good we shall assess her now." Tsunade stated. I looked up startled in hearing that and was quickly ushered out of the room by Tsunade to the training grounds.
