I'd be glad to beta for anyone that needs it, for just about anything (grammar, spelling, typos, or whatever). I don't read slash or anything with graphic sex. Other than that, I'm good.

What I've found is that, while I eventually intend to write something that's eligible for publication, writing fanfiction has helped me to immensely improve my writing skills. The first piece of fanfiction I wrote was, of course, awful, but I've gotten so much better now, all thanks to Star Wars. If I ever do get around to working on that one-page original document on my computer, I'll be much better prepared for it than I would if I had started from scratch.

I LOVED "The Cell"! She promised us a sequel and never gave it. *huffs*

Inevitably people ask me what I'm doing in my notebook, so I have to tell them I'm writing. They get really interested until I'm forced to tell them that it's fanfiction. As soon as the concept is explained to them, they tend to back away slowly.
My family knows I write fanfiction, but none of them really care, except for my dad. He's really irritated that I won't write something original.

I agree. There have been numerous published books written about just that time period. I mean, I can understand why they had to make it so broad, since I'm sure that all of the Star Wars fans on here have very different styles of writing, but STILL.... I would prefer something more specific, and more open, rather than something that's already been written about several times.

I just started a few weeks ago, and my only character is a level 24 human mage on Azuremyst. I'm thoroughly hooked by now, lol.

When you're choosing a fandom for your story, there should be a link for you to click to suggest a fandom that isn't already on the list.

I always put the word fin at the end of every story.
