Ever since the 2nd person POV contest (where I read those great finalists from different fandoms

) I've wanted to learn more about your favorite fandoms! So I thought a contest was just the right thing to do.

Sounds interesting, but I'm not quite sure how it would work. Are you talking like a self-insertion fic or something to literally guide people through the fandom?

Will this be a story contest or will any submission type go?

I think I'll dust off my first "Hellboy" story and submit that. When I originally wrote it, it was meant to introduce people to what I liked best about the character.

So, a story intended to introduce people who don't know the fandom to it? I've written a couple where I had it strongly in mind, but never one where it was the main aim. I like the idea

I have a Beverly Hills 90210 crossover with both Buffy: the Vampire Slayer and Angel, titled "Bad Girls Do Get Eaten." It's received many positive reviews in a different fanfiction website. Will crossover stories like this be acceptable?

Ah I see. Was a little confused at first! Oh... I dunno what to pick now, since I started on here I've taken more to OF work....
I suppose I could try and see how many people I could convert to CSI:Miami hehe

Please, please, please let there be no character limit! It's extremely hard to squeeze full-fledged stories, like you're asking for, into those things.

Otherwise, I think this is such an awesome idea!

either way would be okay, but if you do a guide, it can't be like Fandom 411s, it must be a story. A good example is maryillee's Clear Eyes.

You can do a video, but no images. Images tell us nothing about the fandom except what the characters look like and it can't all fit in the summary.

Anyway, if it's a TV show, you could enter the first episode of the first season. So, yes. Videos, stories, but no images.

Well, yes. If it introduces us to both fandoms.

Wow! I might have to do one of each. A video and a story.

and if you don't want to make a fresh story, you can enter the one you already have made, Maryillee. I never finished reading it anyway.

I know how much people love videos, but I can't see them at work and at home a five minute vid can take up to a half hour to load. In contests that have videos, I always end up not being able to watch them, so I miss out on part of the contest or feel that I shouldn't participate because I can't watch the videos.
