Now you might notice something about Sam and Freda, they are a boy and girl and you can tell the difference without seeing the usual identifiers. You might want to go ahead and save Sam and Freda on your computer, they are who I use if I am having a particulary hard time figuring out a drawing problem with facial proportions or perspective...

Are they actually models you use... or just the pics of models?

As you can see the proportions remain consistant from one face to the other and from one side of the face to the other. Whenever you have a one side down but you are having trouble drawing the other side, I find it helpful to use a mirror to see what the opposite side should look like.

Thats essentially what I'm saying, but most instructors want to get into the skeleton and the underlying muscles, but I don't think thats really all that necessary to get you off to a good start of drawing fan art. Now for the next parts of the lesson it would be helpful to have some graph paper handy and a #2 or harder pencil and a good eraser.

Aaaa! I need to go shopping for art supplies. All I have is a pencil and some plain paper. (What happens if you do this with a pencil that's not a #2?)

Pencils darker than a number two are VERY hard to erase cleanly, so you want to keep to a #2 or a harder pencil for that reason, the softer the lead the darker the line and the harder to erase.
I generally sketch with a #2, and use a plastic erasers (as oppose to a "pink" eraser). If you want we can get into the particulars of that here too.

I have the one side is different from the other human drawing trouble .
How do you use the mirror to see what the other side is like?
Do you put it on the paper?
I use to have this tracing set when I was little that had this sheet of plastic in the middle that would when you put it in sunlight show the outline of a picture on the other side so you could try to draw it....
With me my CP makes drawing even harder, my hand muscles don't want to do what my mind tells them to Plus, I am left handed, and we all know what that does to pictures .

Like I said #2 or harder but not softer and a good quality eraser.

First of all you can get a hand held mirror or GENTLY fold your paper to look at it in a mirror.
Secondly my brother is left handed and he can do some pretty amazing art himself.

I meant the fact that the side of my hand gets all dirty and gets on the paper. (And my hand is not strong enough to stay lifted up as I draw )

Actually we all have a bit of that problem, use a old t-shirt, sock, or paper towel under your hand and it should help you keep from smearing your work.
