After reading this, Coach Taylor couldn't help but reminisce about past Halloween's when he would dress up as Batman, Spiderman, and the common cop or firefighter. "Man, I sure do feel remorse for Hellboy. He must feel so guilty about his father, even though he shouldn't."

"What's that hon?"

Eric turned around quickly, not realizing that Tami was in the kitchen behind him. "I uhh, I didn't know you were up. I was just reading this tryout by Epalladino. Hellboy runs across an old Superman costume in his father's office and thinks about it. It's a nice little story, definitely plausible to his feelings."

"I want to read it." She sat down beside him, clutching the paper. "Leave me be, I can't concentrate with you staring at me."

Seriously...I wish I had as much creativity and confidence as you do to write holiday-themed one-shots for the fandoms and characters I'll never get enough of. Best of luck in the contest, and here comes another favorite.

You usually get scary Halloween stories, but this one wasn't scary at all, and was very heartfelt and loving all at the same time. Excellent work once again on capturing Hellboy's humanity, grief, and survivor's guilt in 1,000 words or less.
