Good way to end a series! LOL! I can just imagine the screams of the fans who were avidly following the adventures of the good ship Fanlib. They're all dead, Jim! Was that the plot change you did because of the character limitation? It seems a bit of a shame. Clever use of names and lots of detail. You certainly put in some work. A few errors but nothing too serious. Good luck in the contest.

I don't know if you are a dude or not, but you get my meaning! My favorite line: “What a dishonorable way to die. But I am honored to know I shall row for eternity together with you on the barge of the dead” Awesome! I love a good last line from a main character before they die (or when they think they are about to die.) Which leads me to my next point, I can't believe they died!

Anyhow, great imagination, great detail! There were a few spelling type issues but the story was so good it didn't matter. I really enjoyed it! Good luck in the contest! :)

I'm not too familiar with Star Trek but I didn't feel I needed to be to really enjoy this story. I love the alien planet, the forcefield, and the whole reason the race had existed once upon it. Very interesting stuff! There were a few minor typos throughout, as well as missing comma's and uncapitalized words at the beginning of some sentences, but it was all minor and didn't take too much away from the story. However I do get confused when more than one speaker isn't seperated with their own new paragraph, I had to reread a few parts to figure out who was speaking. Overall though I really like this, here are a few of my favorite lines;

"Second thing that bothers me is that a field around a planet can have two functions I can think of Captain. It can be intended to keep something from the outside out or something on the inside in.” - This one really got my imagination going, worried that if it was to keep them out they were in danger, but also wondering what it might be keeping in.

"You are not worthy to be conquered yet." I love this line!
