Adapted from a portion of Parts 28, 29, and 30 of the 'Abe Sapien' chapter of "Hellboy's Family". Abe and Hellboy work together to attempt to rescue Hellboy's close friend, folklore consultant Kate Corrigan, and Mindy Carlton, a waitress Hellboy once met at a Halloween costume party. Some adjustment done to edit out material too connected to previous parts to make sense out of context

"Hellboy" and its characters don't belong to me. This is a first-person introspection disguised as a third-person narrative. My use of John Myers is thematic. In my story he functions as a mirror of Hellboy's memories of Trevor Broom. Most everyone has seen Hellboy. During the movie, they left out 1 certain member of the Department of Paranormal Reseach and Defense, his adopted psychotic sister.

Major spoilers if you haven't seen the movie. 'You' in this scene are Hellboy. The other characters present are John Myers and Liz Sherman, the woman Hellboy loves. Some of the dialogue in the movie is so soft as to be almost unintelligible, but better ears than mine have pretty much made out what was said. All dialogue in italics is my own and represent 'your' implied thoughts.
